South Carolina Alliance for Minority Participation

The South Carolina Alliance for Minority Participation (SCAMP) is an enrichment four-year program for minorities who are majoring in the following:

  • Astronomy
  • Biochemistry
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Computer Science
  • Data Science
  • Electrial Engineering
  • Geology
  • Marine Biology
  • Mathematics
  • Meteorology
  • Physics
  • Systems Engineering

The SCAMP program is funded by the National Science Foundation,

the School of Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering, and the Office of Multicultural Student Programs and Services.

SCAMP provides mentoring and summer-research opportunities for students from underrepresented populations (African American, Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islanders) who want to pursue a degree in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines offered from the School of Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering.
